In Valencia, active and innovative city, every year there is a plenty of new events and attractions that brings tourists´ attention.
Without any doubt, the principal festival that characterizes the city of Valencia is the ´Las Fallas, the traditional holiday in honour of San José that every year conducts the city life from the 1st till the 19th od March. The celebration starts on the 1st of March with the first ´mascleta´ (firecrackers explosions that are repeated every day until the 19th of March) and ends on 18th and 19th of March when there are two spectacular events: ´la Nit del foc´ y ´la Crema´. ´la Nit del foc´ (night of 18th of March) is a spectacular pyrotechnic show that lasts half an hour, while ´La Crema´ (night of 19th of March) represents a moment where in one big bonfire there are being burned all ´las fallas´- sculptures made from wood and a pulp mill that gave the name to this event and that are constructed by local artists.
Formula 1 Telefonica Grand Prix of Europe
After the motorcycling Grand Prix of the Valencia Community, since August 2009, in Valencia there is an important sport event: F1 Europe Grand Prix.
The GP of Valencia which urban circuit is situated in the harbour zone, takes place every year in July according to the official FIA calendar.
